We're going to upgrade our network infrastructure because of the need for more bandwidth but also the coming of a new cluster called SMRT (Sint Maarten cluster). This cluster will have 11 blade chassis with each 16 blades and one 10Gbit connection.

In the third phase an interconnect between the two 10Gbit switches will be made to have a very big bandwidth capability between computing and storage. The connection will be 10 x 10Gbit trunk with the possibility to enlarge to 16 x 10Gbit trunk.
