jGridstart is almost ready to be released, and you can help testing the beta version. There are multiple ways to test.

Run the testing program

This helps us to see if everything works as expected on a variety of systems. Run the testing program

Request a real certificate

If you are connected to DutchGrid, you can request or renew a certificate. Please visit the DutchGrid CA (jGridstart version) (valid until jGridstart goes to production).

Request a dummy certificate

If you just want to see how jGridstart works without being bothered with real certificates, please follow these steps.

  1. Open jGridstart, choose one of these versions:
  2. Request a new certificate (if this is not clear upon running jGridstart, it is considered a bug)
  3. When you have submitted your request, you don't need to visit a registration authority in person for this test. Instead, you can validate your own certificate by visiting the test certificate authority: locate your certificate, and press the lock icon to make your certificate valid.
  4. Close the wizard; restart jGridstart or refresh (F5/menu). This will show what to do next.

Importing your existing certificate is possible from a PKCS#12/PEM file containing your certificate or CSR _with_ your private key.

Help us by running automated tests

You can help us improve jGridstart by running the automated test suite. After the tests, results will be uploaded to the developers. Run tests
