The LCMAPS framework. The evaluation manager invoked the business logic of each of the modules in the order defined in the LCMAPS policy. The difference between acquisition and enforcement plug-ins is logical only, with the former filling the local credential cache, and the latter taking the acquired credentials for subsequent system-local enforcement, e.g. using setuid(2) or by updating an LDAP system account directory.
