The VoCacheDir Utility

The VO_xxx_CACHE_DIR environment is best set in the profile of the running jobs. By default, most patch systems (and certainly Torque and OpenPBS) will read the files in /etc/profile and their dependents. The vocachedir-init utility is a script that will live in /etc/profile.d/AAvocachedir.{sh,csh} and setup the environment for the user if one of a range of configurable 'base' directories for the VO cache directory exists. including appropriate README materials and simple installation instructions. It implements some of the basic restriction of the VoCacheDir semantics, but only the bare minimum for safety (root ownership of the directory and the sticky bit set).
