List of domainnames and there usage

There are couple of management interfaces for the Sint Maarten cluster per blade enclosure. There is a enclosure management interface called "HP BladeSystem Onboard Administrator". For the blades itself it is called ILO "Integrated Lights-Out management". But also the build in switches has there own management interface called "HP Virtual Connect Manager". Each management interface has there own purpose and will explain them all.

  • smrt-blade-[01-11].ipmi.nikhef.nl are the enclosure management interfaces.
  • wn-smrt-[001-176].ipmi.nikhef.nl are the blade management interfaces.
  • smrt-blade-[01-11].sw[1-2].ipmi.nikhef.nl are the switch management interfaces.

Enclosure management

It is possible to reach all the other management interfaces of the whole enclosure from this one by using the single sign on technique. The enclosures are a HP BladeSystem c7000 G2. It is possible to login into multiple enclosures at the same time. Because of the interconnect between enclosure 1 t/m 6 and 7 t/m 11.

At the left of the screen you'll get a tree with options. To control the blades, you'll find them under Device Bays, from there you'll can remote control them or turn them on or off.
