The Biet nodes consist of a data mover (the actual node), connected to a controller which takes care of the RAID setup on the disk trays underneath.

The management of the nodes happens through a separate server: 

ssh root@biet-mngt.ipmi.nikhef.nl
/opt/dell/mdstoragesoftware/mdstoragemanager/client/SMclient

This system is set up to monitor the systems and issue alerts via e-mail.
