Requirements

File:Requirements.pdf is the information given to external partners.

Information on materials

Machining

  • [[File:AfnameRapport_DMF260-11.pdf?] Specification of Nikhef's DMF260-11 by the manufactorer]
  • File:Mul Milling vs Turning.pdf is an old presentation by Frans Mul. The interesting conclusion is that 'turning' leads to a leaking foil, while 'milling' does not.

Vacuum measurements

  • Dye penetrant inspection
 * Information provided by Gonzalo ARNAU IZQUIERDO (materials engineer at EN/MME,CERN)

 * Measurements were done by EN-MME Alexandre Gerardin:

 * CERN can do this for the 1m long box

Activities

Starting October 2014 ...

  • 2014/10/02: Machining of 5 drums ready (4 of 250 mu thickness, 1 of 150 mu thickness, all without leaks)
  • 2014/10/20: Three drums with 0.1 micron holes sent to VDL (see ELOG)
  • 2014/10/20: Received 1kg of Field's metal and 1kg of cerrolow 136 from Lowden Limited

Action items

  • arrange a room for Willem (2014/09/18)
