-Central exclusive production at the LHC is a process in which particles are produced without dissociation of the incident protons. The events are characterised by the fact that the detector is almost empty. The exclusive production of Z bosons is very cleanly predicted in the standard model. In this project we study the exclusive production of dimuons via Z->mumu in LHCb run 2 data. The analysis requires an excellent understanding of the underlying event. In particular, we plan to improve background rejection by increasing the reconstruction efficiency for tracks with very large angles in the vertex detector.
