IMAP Mail server

Now:

IMAP mail server:       imap.nikhef.nl
Connection Security:    SSL/TLS  (port 993)

After migration mail folders to new Cyrus IMAP server:

Tools->Account Settings->Server Settings
IMAP mail server:       imaps.nikhef.nl
Connection Security:    SSL/TLS  (port 993)
Go to: Advanced:
IMAP server directory:  make it empty

PINE IMAP configuration.

Attention: Inform the helpdesk in case you do not see your folders after migration.

Note: We are solving some certificate issues, for now use (al)pine on login2.nikhef.nl

Modify the file ~/.pinerc in your home directory accordingly to connect PINE to the new imap server:

inbox-path={imaps.nikhef.nl/ssl}inbox
folder-collections={imaps.nikhef.nl/ssl}[]
default-fcc={imaps.nikhef.nl/ssl}sent-mail

Note: imaps instead of imap makes the difference between old and new IMAP servers. When the mail upgrade is completely finished both imap and imaps can be used.

POP mail server

Now:

POP mail server:       pop3.nikhef.nl

After migration mail folders to new Cyrus POP server:

POP mail server:           pop3s.nikhef.nl
Connection Security:       SSL/TLS  (port 995)
Use secure authentication: No

Note: pop3s instead of pop3 makes the difference between old and new IMAP servers. When the mail upgrade is completely finished both pop3 and pop3s can be used.

Outgoing mail server

Now

Intern nikhef.nl domain:
Server name:               smtp.nikhef.nl
Connection Security:       none (port 25)
Use name and password:     No
Use secure authentication: No
Extern nikhef.nl domain:
Server name:               smtps.nikhef.nl
Connection Security:       SSL/TLS (port 465)
Use name and password:     Yes (in case you want to send mail via nikhef.nl if you are outside nikhef.nl)
User name:                 your Nikhef account name
Use secure authentication: No

Server name:               mail.nikhef.nl (these aliases can be used as well: smtp.nikhef.nl, smtps.nikhef.nl)
