Eduroam Windows settings
To connect to eduroam or the NIKHEF network, follow these steps: Click on the left-to-right ascending bars on the bottom right corner of the screen.
Click on Network Center.
Click on Manage wireless connections on the top left corner of the window.
Click on the "Add" button.
Choose manually add the network profile (the top choice).
For eduroam, specify eduroam as the SSID. For NIKHEF, specify NIKHEF (all capitals). Choose WPA2 Enterprise and verify that AES is selected. Make sure the connection automatically starts and click Next.
Choose to modify the settings.
Verify the checkboxes and select the Security tab.
This step is extremely important: Make sure that Verify server certificate is checked. - Fill in wireless.nikhef.nl - only trust 'AddTrust External CA root'. - Check the "Do not ask the user to trust other certificates" checkbox. - Fill in 'anonymous' as the Identity privacy setting.
Click on Advanced Settings.
Check "Specify verification mode" and select "User verification". Click on "Store credentials".
Specify your username with "@nikhef.nl" behind it and type your password. Click OK. You are done.
NOTE: For Windows 10 the steps described in the above Windows 7 guide are largely the same, except after completion you have to remove the stored Wifi credentials, connect to the Wifi you have just configured and enter the credentials again when prompted.
