A User Interface or (Grid)-UI is a user interface machine on the Grid. The Grid-UI is your access point to the Grid. You can login on this computer with SSH or GSISSH. On this computer you can, amongst others, do the following things:
- create a proxy
- access Grid resources
- job submission
- job monitoring
- compiling programs
- test your application
For debugging purposes it is good to know that the environment of a user interface is similar to a Worker node
Addresses
The address of the main user interface is ui.grid.sara.nl
Access & account
Linux: ssh myusername@ui.grid.sara.nl.
Windows: use an ssh client (for example: puTTy).
To get an account on the central user interface contact grid support
All sites in the Life Science Grid have their own local user interface; in order to get an account you can contact grid support or contact the delegated site admins.
